Simple Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
125g melted butter
1 cup castor sugar
2 eggs
1 cup self-raising flour
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
How to make the cake
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Lightly grease a 20cm ROUND cake tin.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, beat until well combined.
Bake 30-40 minutes until cake springs back when pressed gently.
Allow to cool, then ice the cake.
Chocolate Icing
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
2 tablespoons hot water
2 cups of icing sugar, sifted
1 tablespoon butter, softened.
Dissolve the cocoa powder in the hot water.
Combine the cocoa mixture with the icing sugar and butter, adding a little more hot water if needed, until the icing is smooth and spreadable.
