Those Barossa Girls

We are passionate about Barossa’s food history and saving the recipes of our past.

We love old recipes, food stories, and the links that bind all of them into our families and communities.

We combine that passion with a comprehensive repertoire of traditional food skills (and between us we *might* have a rather large library of old regional cookbooks).

Marieka is an accomplished show- winning-cook and seasonal preserver with a large online following and thinks that no matter how bad a day, it can always be improved by cake.

Sheralee has a strong ancestral connection to the Barossa,  many many many years of preserving, sauce and chutney making, and subscribes to the theory that when you think you’ve preserved enough fruit, you’d better do a couple more.

Oh, and did we mention that we like cooking? And old recipe books? And anything that involves us talking to people about old recipe books and cooking?

We have collaborated on several large food projects representing Barossa, including the Barossa Be Consumed events.

Together we are working on lots of projects across the Barossa region to help bring the community connections, recipes, food skills and stories back to life.

The good old days weren’t always good, but some things are just far too valuable to lose.

So welcome, we’re so glad you’re here.
